Here is this week's newsletter

Here is this week's newsletter from Tony:

This newsletter is emailed to the club secretary (or other email contact) every week, but now for the first time you will all have the chance to ponder over Tony's musings.

Incidentally, it's nice to see the match reports coming in thick and fast - nine so far for the first day of the season. Don't forget to take your digital cameras and get some good action shots for next week's reports!

A sister site?

Assuming that a lot of you play on Saturdays as well, how much interest do you think there would be if I was to create a "saturdayfootball.net" sister site to cover the Kershaw Cambs FA County League?

Same setup as this - blog, forum, match reports, and then a section containing the FA's existing website... what do you think?

Leave your comments against this post, or in the Forum.

Cheers,

Mike

Hold the presses...

After discussions with the Cambridge Evening News, I've added a feature to the match reports section. Now, when you add a match report, you can choose to tick a checkbox which will email your match report to the sportsdesk at the 'News. The email they receive will also contain your sundayfootball.net username and your email address so they can contact you directly if they have any questions.

They may or may not use your reports, but you never know... fame may be just around the corner!

Edit away...

Another new feature! Now, when you add a match report, you'll have a 15 minute window to go back and make changes to it. Look for the "[Edit this report]" link at the bottom of your report. Once the 15 minutes have passed, the link will disappear (but you can still contact me after that, and I can go in and make critical changes for you).

The link will only appear on reports which you've submitted, so you won't be able to go in and edit other people's reports, however much you want to!

Cheers,

Mike

Newsletter "lite"

In the interests of reducing download size, and given that the Mitoo site already contains results, fixtures and tables, we've slimmed the newsletter down to the front page only this week.

Blog first-aid

Following a raft of issues with the blog, I've upgraded the database which removed all the posts to date.

I've been through and added back in the important ones (league forms etc).

Apologies,

Mike

Result!

I see the Evening News website has some Sunday league news inspired by some of your match reports this week.

Excellent! Keep those reports coming in...

UPDATE: When submitting match reports to the Evening News, can you make sure you refer to players by their full names, rather than nicknames - otherwise, they won't be able to use them. Cheers.

Where are the results, fixtures, tables etc?

Checking the logs for this site, I notice that there have been a number of searches for "results", "fixtures", "tables" and individual club names. All this information is now on "Mitoo", but it may not be immediately obvious what that is, or where to look, so here's a quick guide to Mitoo to help you find what you're looking for...
