Like i have said before Rich  some players have got to comfortable and think they have a right to get picked week in week out. Obviously if you have the squad you can change all of this of course and have players fight for there place. If you have noticed when we started in league 3b a few seasons ago i said how important it was to keep the same team through the leagues strengthening if possible but not a great deal. Gamlingay have shown why every season they can compete and win leagues and trophies they have the same players and manager as they did back then which goes a long way to gaining success. After losing Jamie jones this season goals have been a struggle and when you lose someone who scores over 50 goals in a season any team will struggle. Commitment is the key to any football club and one of the reasons i packed in at the start of this season was lack of other peoples commitment within the club. Its a shame as it is happening at alot of clubs on a Sunday. Must say well done to gamlingay who continue to always maintain the efforts from the start to the finish of a season.  This was something i wanted to get into my boys but never felt i had there backing. I had great ideas for the club but it was like whipping a horse with a furlong to go. I will admit i have missed my Sunday football and regularly turn up pitch side to watch a game or two. I have followed the 1b league with great interest and say well done also to sawston wanderers who yet again are going well and seem to find players at the right stage of a season nothing changed there. Good luck to all the teams in sunday football and particularly 1b. Another great season in that league and i wouldn't bet between fulbourn sports or gamlingay united winning it. Good luck to Richard hooks and  my old team fulbourn rovers i hope you can carry on and finish the season and who knows with my enthusiasm as of last season we might be able to pick things up again. Adios all.

Oh well scaffy looks like all is not well in the wanderers camp either. No team on wednesday i here. Fulbourn had  no team against you lot as well this just goes to show Sunday footie is dying m8. I'm glad i got out of it when i did we had the best season for sometime last season when i was at fulbourn.  Anyone of 5 teams could have won the league with weeks remaining,we had full teams including subs.  the enthusiasm was there to see and we had  the good old  banter back and forth.  Reading stuff on here now and fulbourns website things just ain't the same with sunday football.Alot of teams are struggling and i just dont think the interest is there from players anymore on a sunday. You might have to throw away your jimmy grimble boots now lol. Anyway i hope you as well as fulbourn can keep things going into next season would be a shame if the friendly rivalry was to finish. Good luck.

Its no big secret that wanderers have not had a No1 this season,my Bro in law has helped out when poss and when hes played we have been ok. This run in for us has been tough, injurys and the fact the season has been disrupted with the need for midweek games. We had 5 avaliable on tuesday, others playing for their sat side on the same night. Also a few could not make it over to gamlingay on time due to work commitments. You know its the furthest we have to travel, the fact the league arranged it for midweek was a joke. How are you suppose to get from middle cambridge at 5.30 in rush hour traffic to arrive in gamlingay for a 6.30 ko?Joke m8!

Think we havnt done to bad this season, new to this div.Possible 3rd/4th place finish,in title race till last few weeks. We gonna regroupe and come back stronger next season.

If fulbourn is not an option for you, sure you would be welcomed here if you fancy something new? Also mabye you bring in some new players with you to freshern things up.

Something for you to ponder over M8.

Cheers.

As you say m8 a complete joke them arranging that fixture in midweek. While i do miss the footie on sundays I'm not missing the hassle to be fair. I'm now working on my own fitness and have recently joined a boxing gym. For me its doing something for myself instead of putting alot on hold for 17 to 18 lads. I gave alot of my time, work and commitment to that club that was never appreciated. I had really good ideas that will never come to frution. But thats not to say i have walked away completley from football and ponder on what you have said i will do. I may have been to over enthusiastic at fulbourn to eager maybebut i always played that way.  Im a winner but also can take defeat if given fair and square.  I will keep you informed early season as to what i will do but as your in the same league as fulbourn again it might be very tempting indeed. Do you need Paul morley lol.............
